Over the course of the service term, members participate in a variety of activities in addition to their Host-Site Service, including Pre-Service Orientation, Training, Member Meetings, Local Service Projects, Member Committees, Administrative Responsibilities, Volunteer Recruitment, a mid-year Retreat, and an end of year Recognition Ceremony.

Before attending a practice, I thought of wheelchair rugby as a lesser, modified form of rugby. It only took me getting rammed at full force by a wheelchair athlete to realize this wasn’t an accurate assessment.

Although in these times, it is difficult to stay motivated and stay true to my personal mission statement, I find it is helpful to remind myself of why I do what I do. In the same way, I hope to encourage my clients to find their inner motivations for engaging in healthy behaviors. To end, I have included my personal mission statement in hopes that you, too, will take a minute to think about yours.
